That’s the journey I invite you on every time you have a piece of my work in front of you. A journey that takes you from the ordinary through a meditation of strokes, a flow of joyous colours and the impermanence of a moment into the extraordinary joy of being alive.
As you look at my work, know I am asking you first and foremost to rejoice in the riot of colours around us. My canvases are bold and bright and unashamedly vibrant. I want you to feel the sun’s warmth in the yellows and the earthiness of the soil in the browns. Like me I want you to be bewitched by the simplicity of life and be happy in its easy rhythm. Look and, feel uplifted. Then see beyond the layers on the canvas to discover a view that speaks to you and shows you a perspective that infuses life and hope in even the most mundane things we surround ourselves with.

Perspective. Yes, as much as Nature is my Muse, perspectives are a favourite of mine. I just love walkways, paths receding into the distant unknown, carved entrances, ancient temple and fort architecture… all that calls for a journey that can be as internal as it can be external.
There is no hidden social message in my work. What you see is what you get and what you do with it is your treasure to store.
Which reminds me, those who know me are greatly amused that as an artist I prefer the knife to the brush. But it is true I wouldn’t know what to do without my palette knife. Or the mug of coffee that helps me ruminate.
Or the open window that takes me down a new rabbit hole every time.
I am perfectly capable of creating my chaos anywhere. Wherever my canvas speaks to me or a painting waits for me to drape it across the canvas, is my space

In the middle of a mundane sentence, within the birdcage of an ordinary chore or while looking into the cold dregs of coffee in the mug, the random sketches in my book suddenly make sense.
