My work spans oils on canvas with a palette knife, mixed media on canvas and paper, watercolours and metal-based art, all created as original paintings that reflect my vision as an Indian artist.
My paintings are full of bright and festive colours… no subtlety here. I believe in art that brings happiness in this fast-paced life. I want my paintings to make you forget your troubles for a moment. It’s just about enjoying the here and now
I choose to paint the beauty in the world I see. I choose to see happy, bright colours in everyday landscapes. It may be a fantasy, an unreal world — but it is what appeals to me as an artist. I hope you lose yourself in this make-believe world too.
I also want to invite you to ‘step into’ my canvas, as there is an element of perspective and depth in most of my works. I invite you, my viewer, to look into the distance, explore the mysterious nooks and corners of my paintings — whether it is the intricate details of Indian temples and palaces or landscapes from around the world — and lose yourself in the moment.
As I love painting with the palette knife, the surface of my original paintings is very textured with thick impasto paint. I enjoy creating layers in my palette knife paintings with bold strokes, producing vibrant, tactile works of contemporary Indian art.
